i've always found, if you agree value for under 15k, they are not really interested in pics of anything, go over 15k and they expect pictures for agreed value (and they will up your yearly premium)
I have always been totally prepared to insure at 'market value' and save on my yearly premiums ...on the off chance I ever had to make a claim for the FULL bus, I am confident i could argue the toss regarding market value and get what i actually consider the value (to me) of the bus back
If an insurance company asked me, I would be seriously questioning why they need a valuation letter to insure an item......I could insure my big toe for £100000 against loss if I wanted to and was prepared to pay the premium , i doubt I would need any kind of confirmation my big toes value was £100000
For example...when insuring my bus this year (as I say, I generally just go with 'market value') I asked , out of curiosity, what is the market value (this is obviously just a sales person im speaking to with no actual expert knowledge - he paused for a second, then said 10k.....I laughed and said if he could find a RHD devon with all original interior for 10k , he was a magician, he then said, whats it worth, and I said to replace, mininum 20k, he just said...OK, i'll put that, but we need x6 pictures (my premium went up by £20)
If the insurer cannot make there own decision based on your x6 photo's then I wouldnt trust them
