Prompted by Steve, heres my BMX resto.
Early 80's Ammaco frame.
Started sanding the shite white paint job, was only gonna key it for a brown respray, found that underneath was chrome & some previous red aswell, so the brown plan has gone out the window i'm now thinking along the lines of these barematalled busses covered in anchor wax that look so cool.
Gonna keep the chrome & where its flaking just have bare metal/bit of rust showing & wax over it to protect.
Anyways, current state of play....

clear waxoil

it`ll be a bit sticky tho

maybe just let it get a bit natural rust then just wire wool it everyonce in a while
or clear coat it

me.....i would let it get a little natural rust....sand it again and apply some rust eater that turns the rusty bitsl black / purple ...then clear coat it...would look pretty hard
