Not really a rebuild...or a restoration

just a toy, so i`ll post pics as I play with it :-)
03 plate 1.6 petrol VW beetle cabriolet

bought it...in the summer sometime
this is it

Image
got some grey floormats and replaced the steering wheel with the Leather version
Image

fitted a removable towbar, too allow us to do this
Image

wheels next.....
18" RS4 replicas
Image
Image

need to sort out the centre caps, have some original RS4 caps, but they dont fit these replicas...hmmm....sure i`ll work something out

they may only be temporary wheels, i`m refurbing some MG rover (**cough cough**) alloys which I think suit the car pretty well
Image

I want to keep the car reasonably comfy...but I think its gonna have to come down a little...at least at the front, that`ll be next

TBC.......

Lovely. I saw this at Leeds, what a fantastic colour.

What size are the Rover wheels and tyres?

Cheers,

Kevin

rovers are 18`s too, but with taller 225/45 tyres...think they look a bit bigger cos the others have the centre caps missing...optical illusions and all that

I love the colour...had to be that colour, reminds me of early 70`s bugs which always seem to be sky blue or orange (you`d think VW would an orange newbie too)

fitted some nice black multispokes for a while

as well as some Spax coilovers
They ride really nice, anyone wanting a car they can drop on its nuts and still drive as nice as before it was lowered, then pay the extra and fit some of these - adjustable height and dampers...ive got the dampers on the softest setting

wheels changed again for Lexus LS460 ones
needed 15mm 5x100 to 5x120 adaptors to fit them, and Range Rover nuts machined down (which still needed spacers adding to fit correct, reet ballache, but I wont see another car with these on (unless its a Lexus LS460 of course)

Pirrelli rubber all round...never understood why people pay pirrelli prices, but the road noise is considerably less than any other car i`ve had for a long time, with them fitted
