This is my van, its a 1964 Chevy 8 door Corvan.
When I bought it it had been sat in storage unloved for 5 years, it took quiet a bit of work to get it up and running again and make it road worthy. My family and friends would still say its still not road worthy even now  but what do they know about ratlook motors.

This was my first job on the van, I walk around with a roller and painted a lovely white band around its waist cos it looked a bit plain.

Next job after it passed its test, lower it and stick a roofrack up top.

Next job treat the roof to colour make over, and paint the flat drab paint work with ankor wax.

Next job hit a few shows and see what people thought of my pride and joy

So that's my van.

well that was until a few weeks ago when I started giving it a make over with the old wet & dry sandpaper.
Latest pics to follow when I've hosed all the mess up on my drive

Thanks gang. :D

For a while now I've looked at my van and wondered " whats the message " :? why was it handpainted roughly with this brown primer stuff.
 So curiousity has now got the better of me, I started a few weeks ago by rubbing down the lower back panel to see what lay beneth with some wet & dry.

Its very therapeautic you you know,,,,, so I just keep on sanding until cramp in my fingers but a halt to my fun.

It looks like its been 2 shades of blue during its life, a pastel blue and a blue metallic.
While I was on I removed the glass window doors on the drivers side cos the bottoms are shot, and refitted the original panel doors which came with it.

I,ve got some ideas and plans to crack on with over the winter, might even spend some of my pocket money and try and make it more reliable and usable as weekend camper.

Shame tho, in funny sort of way I do like the quirky unreliable, stop at the worst possible moment attitude the van poseess.
